March 17th, 2011 by Pastor SolleyJohn 12:16-19 These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him. 17?The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record. 18?For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle. 19?The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.
It is an interesting study to look at he word remember or remembered in the Bible. There are many things that man is called to remember and many things that men ask God to remember. The latter is a foolish thing for God does not forget but man often does. I wonder how much we wold be spared if we would just stop and remember. When we are faced with a difficult decision if we would remember to stop and seek the wisdom of God. If when we are distressed we would remember to seek His presence. If when we are in trial we would remember to seek His help. If when we walk about we would remember to follow His words. If when we don’t know which way to turn we would remember to allow His Word to guide us. I often wonder how much peace we would find in our lives, the prefect peace of God, if we would stop and remember.
