Daily Devotions
February 10th, 2011 by Pastor SolleyDevotion this morning is from Coast Line Babptist Church. Received it and thought I would pass it on.
Nehemiah 2:1, “And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence.”
Nehemiah 2:2, “Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid,”
How do people at work see you? Do your circumstances dictate your countenance or does your salvation and walk with God dictate your countenance. Nehemiah was never sad in the presence of the king prior to this point. Nehemiah didn’t carry his feelings, he carried the joy of salvation everywhere he went. That is part of the reason the king was so willing to let Nehemiah pack up and head back home. The king realized, this is a real issue in Nehemiah’s life. He never saw him sad before. Can your boss say that about you?
