Gen 41:1-4 ?And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river. 2?And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favoured kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow. 3?And, behold, seven other kine came up after them out of the river, ill favoured and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river. 4?And the ill favoured and leanfleshed kine did eat up the seven well favoured and fat kine. So Pharaoh awoke.At the end of two full years this chapter begins. Joseph had been cast into prison, unjustly accused, had interpreted dreams of the butler and baker, and now waited two years before he was remembered to the Pharaoh. But it is even more than two years. Joseph was sold into Egypt by his brothers when he was 17, at this time he is 30 we find out later in the chapter. Who long Joseph waited on the Lord, waited in prayer, waited to be set free, waited on the Lord. We often pray and expect an answer right away and when we don’t get the one we want we wonder why God isn’t listening to us. God heard Joseph right away calling out of the pit his brothers had cast him into. Now 13 years later God sets Joseph up in Egypt. Friend, we need to learn to wait on the Lord, to wait patiently for Him. Consider Joseph as an example of waiting on the Lord.
