December 29th, 2010 by Pastor Solley1 Samuel 7:12-13Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Eben-ezer, saying, Hitherto hath the Lord helped us. 13?So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
“The Lord helped us.” How many times as we look back on 2010 can we say that the Lord helped us? At least 365 for the Lord helped us get through each and every day. Some days we perhaps did not even realize the helping hand of the Lord. Days when all was well, no worries, no cares, no needs so to speak other than the ones we never think about. Yet we were protected, provided for, directed by the hand of God. But there were times as well when we needed Him, times when the Philistines were in our land so to speak. Again God helped, defeated the enemy, delivered through the trial, the Lord helped us. Today as we draw close to the end of 2010 think if you would of how the Lord helped you in 2010. Thank Him for what He did for you. Then think of how we will need Him all the more in 2011. The Lord helped us, Lord help us.
