I go to prepare a place for you. 3?And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4?And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5?Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6?Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Another year is drawing to a close. It is hard for this preacher to believe it is almost 2011. From the time I can remember I have been hearing of the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ. When I was younger I was in a hurry to do certain things because Jesus was coming soon. Yet this world went through the 70’s, 80’s, 90,s the Y2K, and now 2010 and we are still here. Does this mean Jesus is not coming, or that His return is not going to be soon? Of course not. By His promise we know that Jesus Christ will come int eh flesh the second time, first for His church and after with His church. Yet the years go by. This one thing I do know, we are closer to the return of the Lord now in 2010 than we were in 1990, or 2000, or 2009 and we will be closer yet in 2011. Perhaps this will be the year Jesus will return for His own. But if not understand Christian we are not to doubt His promise, or weary in waiting for its fulfillment. We are to be busy for the Lord. Consider this, the Lord gave us 2010 to serve and work for Him. Have we done so, have you done so? What have you done for the Lord in 2010? Perhaps God will grant you another year to serve and really do something for Jesus Christ. If so let us get busy for the Lord. 2011 may be your last year to serve or perhaps Jesus will come again before we get to the New year.
