December 16th, 2010 by Pastor SolleyMatthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29?Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30?For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Jesus great command is that of “come unto me.” Think of that for just a moment this morning. Jesus wants you, wants me to come unto Him today, to walk with Him today, talk with Him today, read His Word today, to be with Jesus today. What a blessed and comforting thought, what a tremendous truth, Jesus wants to spend time with me today! Meditate on that thought, on that truth. I wonder how much my life would change if I were as anxious to spend time with Jesus as He with me? Yes I will read my Bible this morning, I will pray, I will make visits today into the homes of the sick, I will study for a message, I will do what I have been called to do. But there are times I know I go through the motions without the real presence of God. Is that true of your life at times as well. Let us remember that Jesus wants to spend this day, everyday with us. For us to meet Him in the morning and walk through the day with Him. If we would do this I wonder if our day would get brighter, our burden lighter, I wonder if we would find real rest in the Lord?
