November 23rd, 2010 by Pastor Solley1 John 1:1-7 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2?(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 3?That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4?And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. 5?This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6?If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7?But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Here is something else to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. That the Son of God, the creator of all things, the Lord Jesus Christ would have fellowship with us, fellowship with me. Fellowship for some is hard to define but think of it in this simple way, two fellows in the same ship. Not an ocean liner where you would never have to meet but a ship like the ones used by the fishermen of Jesus day. When Jesus walked into the ship with the disciples they were in close contact, they were near one another, saw one another, talked to one another, were in the storm together, reached the other side together, saw the seas calmed together. In other words they were together in all things. What a blessed thought that we cn have fellowship with God the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ. Not only that it is a fellowship He desires, a fellowship God invites. I have I think many friends int his world but one stands above all in that He always wants to have fellowship with me. Not only does He want that fellowship but He gave His very life that I might enter into it. Think of that and then give thanks.
