November 17th, 2010 by Pastor SolleyRomans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! 34?For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counseller? 35?Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? 36?For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
I think it amusing at times how we as Christians try and figure out the wisdom and knowledge of God, try and search out His actions and judgments. A better way to put it may be that we try and put ourselves above them. Yet the Bible tells us they are unsearchable. We need to rely on that truth instead of trying to understand why God did this or that, why God allowed this or that to come into our lives, why God doesn’t do what we want Him to do in every situation. Could it be perhaps that God has more wisdom and knowledge than we do? We would be better off if we could live by the last few words of verse 36, give Him glory for ever. Just put our lives in His hands and live with His honor and glory in mind. What is the end of our going out and working everyday? Is it to glorify God? What is the end of our marriages? Is it to glorify God? What is the end of our families, raising our children? Is it to glorify God. When that becomes the main focus in every area of our lives we will find ourselves resting in His wisdom, knowledge and judgments and not fighting against or questioning them.
