November 16th, 2010 by Pastor SolleyHebrews 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; 2?Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. 3?For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house. 4?For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
Consider this morning the faithfulness of Jesus Christ. The God of creation, the sustain-er of all that He brought into being, the beginning and the end, the eternal one became the faithful one. Faithful to the Father, faithful to His Word, and faithful to all who will call upon Him for salvation. Jesus Christ is faithful. I often think what it would be like if Jesus were as faithful to me as I am to Him. How my life would change if Jesus were as faithful to me as I were to Him. How many dark lonely hours would I have to spend, how many troubles would I have to face alone, how many decisions would I have to make apart from any guidance, what if Jesus were as faithful to me as I am to Him? I thank Him this morning that His faithfulness does not depend upon me. With that thought in mind what can we do today to be more faithful to Him? Read our Bible, meditate upon His Word, pray, witness, walk in His light are a few things. I mention them because they seem to be missing in the lives of professing Christians today. More people will turn on the TV before they read the Bible. More people will turn on the TV before they pray. More people will come under the influences of the world and not the influence of the Word of God. Are we really faithful to Him when we ignore Him most of the time> I am so glad Jesus does not base His faithfulness on how faithful I am.
