November 9th, 2010 by Pastor SolleyColossians 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7?Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8?Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Those who have received Jesus Christ as personal savior from sin, death and hell are to walk in Him. (Verse 6) The philosophy of our day is to live as you want in this world just waiting to be taken to heaven. That thinking has spoiled many a professing Christian, ruined them, made them of no use to God. When something is spoiled it is of no use to anyone. We need to walk in Christ. The presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, of the Holy Spirit within a person will change that person. We then are to walk in Him. Walking implies action. Ours is not to be a dead faith, we are to be active for the Lord. Walking implies moving forward. Few people spend any time walking backward. We are to move forward, grow in our Christian life. Walking implies something that is a habit. Many people make it a habit to walk today. Our Christian walk is to become a habit. Not something we do without thought or direction, but something we are careful to do everyday. Did you walk with Jesus yesterday? Will you walk with Him today?
