I was speaking to an elderly saint yesterday who made the comment that they couldn’t even pray at the present time. This one is close to the Lord and had been overtaken by years and illness. I was left sharing this truth from the Word with them and then thinking about it this morning. It is not a good thing when our bodies begin to fail, when the years overtake us, when we cannot do the things we used to do, and even are kept from the house of God. But it is not a bad thing to be left before God completely dependent upon the Spirit of God for even our prayers. What a comfort to know that others are praying for us when we are in need. But it goes well and beyond comfort to know that the Spirit of God is making intercession for us, praying for us, before the very throne of God, the throne of grace. We are able to walk into that throne room in prayer, but there are times when we are carried there in the arms of the Spirit of God. Take heart Christian, someone is praying for you.
