2 Timothy 2:11?It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12?If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: 13?If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
The Bible is full of faithful sayings of which many stand out. This is one such faithful saying that stands out. If we be dead with Him we shall also live with Him. What is it to be dead with Christ? Is it just being saved? Is it being baptized? Or is it more than those things? It is much more than those things. To be dead with Christ one must be dead to self, dead to the world, dead to the flesh. That is the only way we will know in this world what it is to live with Him. Christian we know that we will live with Him in eternity, in heaven. But what of now? Is it possible to live with Jesus now, possible to walk with Him now as we will walk with Him in eternity? The answer is yes. But only as we die to self, to the world and to the flesh. Until we are willing to be dead with Him we can never live with Him.
