2 Sam 9:12-13
12 And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth.
13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king’s table; and was lame on both his feet.
This man flawed as he was would sit at the table of the king everyday. He was there because he was the son of Jonathan and that made him close to David. I am sure he cleaned himself up, was dressed well and so forth, but he was still flawed. It is a picture of us as we come and dine at the table of God. We are no prize to God, flawed as we are. We need to clean ourselves up as best we can, separate from the filth of the world, walk in the light, serve, do what we can. But we are still flawed. Yet we are invited to come and dine at the table of God. Ever wonder why? Because God sees in us His Son, just like David saw Jonathan in his son. Think of that today.
