23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.
What a blessed truth that we can cast our burden upon the Lord. A burden is anything that is weighing us down. In context the burden in this chapter is the wound of a friend. – Ps 55:12
For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him: These are cutting wounds but Jesus understands them as well. Remember He was betrayed with a kiss from Judas. All fled from Him as He was taken by Rome. No man stood with Jesus in His greatest hour of need. Yet even in times like these He is there for us. No man can say that Jesus has left him alone, we can take our burden to Him. Do we trust Him to the point that we bring every burden to the Lord? Sao many say that they trust Him like that, but so few are willing to bring all to Him. The reason being that we will then have to turn that burden over to Jesus and respond in the same way that He did. In a kind and loving manner even to those who left Him in His hour of need. We will have to respond by walking in the will of God. We will have to continue to serve even though we have been hurt. We will have to turn it all over to Him.
