Neh 4:1-2
4:1 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.
2 And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?
There was a question asked about Nehemiah and those that were working with him to rebuild the walls and repair the gates of Jerusalem; will they revive the stones? Could there ever be a Jerusalem again, could the walls stand again, could the gates be in place, would they revive the stones? The answer was yes. Because they were willing and God was willing the city was again made strong and beautiful, there was revival. The same question is asked today concerning spiritual revival. Can the same stones be used again, can they be built up, can there be revival? The answer is again yes if we want it for our God is most willing. Yet people see little revival today because there is little interest today. I wonder at the people who are missing from the church house today when the doors are open. Yes some are sick, some are working, but most are sitting at home in front of a TV spuing garbage out at them, most are doing something they think is more important than the Lord, most are complaining about the church instead of being involved in it. And then most wonder why we see no revival. Where so you stand?
