Ps 22:13-15
13 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.Psalm 22 give us a picture of Jesus on the cross. All of the physical brutalities that Jesus suffered for us go beyond what we could ever imagine. But Jesus also suffered at heart for us. Ps 22:14
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. His heart was poured out like water. The weight of sin broke the heart of God. The weight of sin broke fellowship with the Father and this was almost more than Jesus could endure. It is one thing to suffer physically, another to suffer spiritually and emotionally. To have that heart melt within like wax, to be depressed is a pain like few others. Jesus also knows how we feel at that time because He experienced it was well. In times of depression draw near to the Savior, look at Him on that cross, look at Him in the garden, look at Him with that heart that melted like wax. Jesus knows how we feel even in times of deep depression. He is there to help, flee to Him.
