Daily Devotions
March 5th, 2010 by Pastor Solley1 Sam 10:25-27
25 Then Samuel told the people the manner of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it up before the LORD. And Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house.
26 And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and there went with him a band of men, whose hearts God had touched.
27 But the children of Belial said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace. In 1 Sam. 9 Samuel anoints Saul as king and then in chapter 10 Saul is set before the people. God granted to Israel what they demanded, a king to rule over them. Saul had a very good beginning. But in the last verse of the chapter we see division in the people, not everyone accepted Saul.
Christian do not be surprised at opposition as you walk with God. We need to stand with the Lord, stand out in the world, but when we do it will bring division. Division between you and the world and even at time division between you and other Christians. Do not be surprised when not everyone what to walk as you do with the Lord. Do not be surprised even when you face opposition from within. Just remember your good beginning in the Lord and continue on for Him.
PS.
I will be away from my desk all next week as we will be traveling to AZ. I will post if I can but I am not taking my lap top with me this trip.
