Eph 6:10-18
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;Over the next week we will look at how we can be strong in the Lord. We have a picture above of a soldier ready for battle against the enemy. In order to be able to stand in the fight he needs to be armed and protected. We begin with the protection.
1. Stand…girt about with truth. (Verse 14) There is precious little that one can depend upon today as truth and few people who are truthful. Just look at what is going on in politics and this is clearly seen. For example our current president made it an issue that he would bring the troops home from a war only Bush wanted. At the end of his term President Bush had about 130,000 men in the field on two different fronts. Today the current president has about 180,000 men in the field on the same two fronts. What he says is not the truth. Yet people accept that.
May I point out that there is a place and a person that hold all truth. The person is the Lord Jesus Christ, the place is His Word. Why not flee to Him, stand on His Word and be girt about with truth. Stan on the truth of the Word of God, walk in the truth of Jesus Christ. When we stand with Him we stand with one we can depend upon, we stand in absolute truth.
