5:1 To the chief Musician upon Ne’-hi-loth, A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.
2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning , O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
6 Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
7 But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
8 Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.The last few days were not to give the impression that David was a man far from God. Much to the contrary David was a man after God’s heart. – Acts 13:22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
But even that man will fail and make a mess of things if he does not follow after God in everything. But David always remembered where his heart really was, where his strength lie, where he could find help in time of need. David would return to his God. David would ask for Godly counsel and leadership. And David would find these things in the Lord. Let us day by day come to the throne of grace and ask God to direct our steps, ask to be shown the path we are to follow, ask for the strength to walk in His will, ask to be made pleasing in His sight.
