23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.September 11 has become a big day in our nation as it should be. Very often we look back on days of tragedy in our nation so we can remember those who have given their lives or lost their lives on those days. On Sept. 11 there were many who lost their lives. They went to work like any other day and were victims of an unprovoked attack on our nation. There were many others who gave their lives. They arrived on the scene after the trouble began and walked and ran into something not of their own making to try and rescue people they had never met and people who did not know them. It should be a day we remember along with Dec. 7 and other important dates.
But I would like to challenge you to remember today and everyday another who gave His life so very long ago. One who came in answer to a situation not of His making. One who came willingly and without hesitation. One who died for people who did not know Him. I want you to remember the Lord Jesus Christ today and what He did for you and me on the cross. Many in this world sacrifice their lives for just causes, Jesus sacrificed His life for you. Many sacrifice their lives to make this a better world to live in. Jesus sacrificed His life so we could live in a better world with Him in heaven. Many sacrifice their lives when the need is great. Jesus sacrificed His life for the greatest nee, a need we can never answer on our own, the need to have sin forgiven. Stop and remember what Jesus did for you today.
