Dan 7:10
10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
Rev 20:12
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books , according to their works.Do works matter? Let us first consider the lost, those who have never humbled themselves before God and ask forgiveness of sin by placing faith and trust in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Will works matter to them?
Our God is one that keeps records. And what does God record? God records the works or deeds to men. In Daniel 7 we see that at the judgment books will be opened. In Rev 20 we see that at the judgment books will be opened. What is in the books? The deeds and works of the lost. Every lie that has been told, every time they blasphemed the name of Christ and God, every sinful act has been recorded, every sinful thought, every sin of the flesh, every sin of the mind, every time they rejected Jesus Christ. All has been written down and at the judgment the books will be opened and the lost will answer for their works and be judged accordingly. There will be a day that works matter before God. Often in this world we look at what is going on and wonder why God allows men to get away with so much. Man is getting away with nothing, all is being written down and one day the books will be opened. Works matter for the lost.
In light of this we need to be a witness. The only thing that we save man, the only thing that can offer hope is salvation in Jesus Christ.
