2 John 1-6
1:1 The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;
2 For the truth’s sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.
3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
4 I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.
5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.We made it back last night from NC where we able to spend a short time with our daughter and her husband before he leaves for Irak. It is always hard to say goodby and start home but one thing that brings such joy is the fact that they are involved in a good Bible believing church and both are serving the Lord. It brings great joy to know that they are walking in truth in their young lives. Apart from home they continued on for the Lord.
Much is made today about the church losing the young people. But that is not so. There are just as many young people or more who walk in the truth they learned, who stay true to the Lord Jesus Christ and serve them. Let us not concentrate on the ones who walk away. We do need to pray for them, for the Spirit of God to convict and to bring them back. But let us also rejoice in those who remain true and serve the Lord.
