2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

How sad it is to think of a baby who does not grow. Cared for a loved by his or her parents, fed with milk, and yet that little one does not grow. Doctors would be sought out, medications tried, many prayers made all in the hope that one would begin to grow. That is the picture given to us of a born again child of God who does not grow. Year after year there seems to be no spiritual growth, no advancements in the things of God even though all has been provided for that one to grow. There is the Word of God. (1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:) The Holy Spirit dwells within to help that growth take place. (John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.) There is the preaching of the Word of God in the church house. (Heb 10:25-26
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,) All has been provided so one can grow in the Lord. Are you growing dear one? Do you feed upon the Word of God? Do you desire to be in the house of God? Are you serving the Lord? How sad it must be for Jesus to look for growth in those He has given life and find none.
