Matt 16:23-24 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
KJV
What things do you savor the most today? All week we have looked at that word and how we need to seek first the kingdom of God, set our affections on things above and not on this earth. We see the need to deny self, seek out and follow the will of God. Is that a commitment you are willing to make today? Many things this day will battle for my affections, many things will try and pull me away from where I need to be, what I need to savor. Will I be willing to put aside every weight and savor the things of God? The answer to that can only be given at the end of this day. But I do know what I need to savor today, what I need to put aside and what I need to take up, who I need to follow. What things do you savor today?
