Matt 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
Phil 3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
KJV
The word savourest is translated mind in Phil 3:19 stating that the enemies of the cross mind earthly things and the end of that is destruction. We expect that from the lost but we must remember that while the Bible speaks of the lost it is addressing Christians in this passage. We can also be so earthly minded that we serve self more than any other, that we can seen to be an enemy of God, that our only glory is in self and in this world. When that happens in the life of a professing Christian destruction will follow. We will not lose salvation in Christ but most certainly lose all blessings that come with Christ. What are you minding today? Is your mind so settled in the world that you have become an offence to Jesus Christ? Is your mind so settled in the world that you think of self first and always? Is your mind so settled in the world that destruction is just around the corner? Is it time to mind heavenly things so you can walk in the blessings of the Lord today?
