Deut 33:24-26 And of Asher he said, Let Asher be blessed with children; let him be acceptable to his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil.
25 Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.
26 There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.

Asher received the prophecy of shoes made of iron and brass, shoes not comfortable to walk in. This life will be filled with times of difficulty, times when the believer in Christ seems to walk in shoes made of iron and brass. Yet we find with that prophecy comes a promise, “As they days, so shall they strength be”. (Verse 25) We also have another promise given in the very next verse. (There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.) In these troubled times of life there is one who rides upon the heavens to help us in our hour of need. Yesterday we saw His abiding presence, today we see Him coming to our aid in time of trouble. Was this promise for Asher alone, or is it one that is given to every blood bought child of God? What was the help for three who went into a burning fiery furnace? What was the help for one who went into the den of lions? What was the help of one who stood before the kings of the earth in the New Testament? Was not the Lord their help and stay, their strength, their protection, did not the Lord fly to their aid? These may be troubled days dear friend, but they are not without hope, not without help. Look to the one who flies to your aid this day, look to the Lord Jesus Christ, allow Him to be your help and stay.
