Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
This verse not hard to understand or to interpret, impossible to mess up. Yet many have done just that through the years by trying to insert man’s ideas into the creation account. We should always remember that when Scripture makes plane sense to take the plane sense of Scripture. This same truth applies to all of the Bible. Some things may be hard to understand but many things make plane sense. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Here we have another verse that is easy to understand and interpret, impossible to mess up. Yet many have inserted man’s ideas into this verse as well. Does God really love all men, did Jesus really die for all, can all be saved? When the Scriptures make plane sense, take the plane sense of Scripture. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Can all men really be saved? When the Scriptures make plane sense, take the plane sense of Scripture. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Does God really want all men, is it His will that all go to heaven? When the Scriptures make plane sense, take the plane sense of Scripture. Not all will be saved, but God has shut no man out.
