? John 8:32
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Do you know the truth today, have you been set free from sin and hell? Jesus Christ is the truth and the way to be set free, forgiven and have eternal life. You need to know you are in bondage and you need to look in faith to the only one who can set you free. I will give thanks today for our freedom as a […]
John 8:32-36 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
36 If the Son therefore shall […]
Jer 33:1-3 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
2 Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; the Lord is his name;
3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
KJV
The promise made in verse thirty three is one of […]
Rev 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
KJV
Do works really follow? The answer to that of course is yes because the Bible says that they do. There are rewards that will be given out in heaven for faithful service for the Lord, five crowns are […]
Lam 3:21-24 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
KJV
I like new things. Some people like antiques, some like things that are broken in, some like older things, but I like new things. […]
Ps 103:13-17 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.
14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting […]
Ps 103:13-14 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.
14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
KJV
When we hear the word pity we think of one feeling sorry for the plight of another but not really being able to do anything to help beyond feeling sorry. That is not what the word pitieth means in this verse. This Hebrew word means to be filled with […]
Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
KJV
A final thought this week about the rest that is promised to the people of God. We all need this rest and that rest is promised to every blood bought child of God. But there are times when it seems that we come short of that rest. (Heb 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you […]
Heb 4:9-10 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
KJV
How do we find the rest promised in verse nine above is our question for this week. First, believe God. Second, put away the sin that hinders us. This morning we see that we need to stop doing things on our own. (Verse ten.) […]
Heb 4:9-10 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
KJV
How does one find the rest that is promised in verse nine? First, believe God as we noted yesterday. Second, put all known sin away, give it to Jesus, let Him cleanse you, and walk in the newness of life. Sin always harms and destroys […]
