Ps 112:7-8 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

So good to have a fixed heart. The Hebrew word means to be established, to be certain, a heart that is not going to be moved. But the Hebrew word fixed as applied to the heart in this verses carries other meanings as well. When your heart is broken by disappointment it can be fixed when you focus on the Lord. When you heart is broken by fear of the unknown it can fixed when you focus on the Lord. When your heart is broken by the enemy of our faith it can be fixed when you focus on the Lord. When there seems to be those evil tidings as in verse seven above the heart can be fixed when one focuses on the Lord. When there is fear your heart can be fixed when you focus on the Lord. Many times in our lives we allow the things listed above and many other things as well to move our focus and then our heart needs to be fixed. What comes before the Lord in your life today? Money, sports, pleasures of the flesh, simple indifference to the things of God and the house of God all lead to a heart that needs to be fixed. When our hearts are established in the Lord then they can and will be fixed.
