Ephesians 5:22-27
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 

Back to the church this morning. We find in verse 25 that Christ gave Himself for the church. Not only should the church be important to the Christian but we need also to follow the example of Christ and give ourselves to it and for it. I am not saying that we should worship the church or serve the church. We need to worship the Lord Jesus Christ and serve Him. But we also need to understand that God works, Christ works through the church. This began in Acts 2 and has not changed. So Christian, find a good Bible believing, Christ honoring church and begin to serve the Lord. Serve Him with your presence, with your offerings, with your efforts and with your heart.
