Rom 14:7-9 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.
9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
KJV
Jesus Christ is “Lord both of the dead and the living.” But what does that mean? For the born again believer in Christ it does mean that He has both given us eternal life and He will take us to haven to live eternally with Him and He determines the time and the means when that will take place. If it were the will of God each and every individual could be taken to heaven the moment they receive Jesus as their personal savior and if it is the will of God each one will work and labor for Him for a time in this world for he is Lord both of the dead and the living. Why are we then still here in this world? So we can live unto the Lord and allow others, especially those who remain lost in sin, to see Christ in us and the hope we have of the glory to come. Remember when we are moved to long for heaven that He is our Lord and we are to live unto Him and for Him until He welcomes us into His eternal presence. There we will meet Him face to face and all others who have died in the Lord as well. Jesus Christ is “Lord both of the dead and the living.”
