Gal 5:7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
KJV
What might hinder us from running the race well for the Lord today? Something or someone or a combination of both hindered those addressed in the book of Galatians from running well as we seen in our text verse this morning. What might hinder us today? It could be the natural things of life that are out of our control such as illness and the like, it could be Satan as he works against the child of God that hinders us. But what I might allow to hinder me needs to be set aside. Perhaps in times of disappointment and discouragement I can allow them to hinder me. Perhaps there be times when I allow things in my life I know I should not and they hinder me. Perhaps it as simple as neglecting time in prayer that I allow to hinder me. Perhaps a root of bitterness I have allowed to spring up hinders me. There are some things that hinder us that perhaps are beyond our control and we need cry out for help from our Lord. But when things we have allowed into our lives hinder we need to put them away and ask our Lord for the strength to keep them out of our lives. What hinders needs to be set aside so we can run well.
