Could it be that you need a city of refuge today? Many were made in the Promised Land and for several different reasons, but they provided just what the title suggests, refuge. Let us consider this morning a place of refuge. (1) Ps 9:9 The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. (2) Ps 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (3) Ps 57:1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. (4) Ps 62:7-8 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. 8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. (5) Ps 91:2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. (6) Isa 25:4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. – For sure a place of refuge has been provided for the born again child of God and we should seek Him out today.
