Daily Devotions

Heb 13:5-6 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

What is it that will bring real and lasting contentment into a life? It must not be money because those that have a lot always want a lot more. It must not be popularity because those who seem to be popular are always fretting over who does not like them and why. It must not be power for those in high offices are always trying to advance. All of the above do not bring contentment into a life so where can that real and lasting contentment be found? Only in the Lord Jesus Christ as we see above for He will never forsake us because our money runs out, or we are not liked by the world, or our strength and power is not what it once was. No individual can find contentment in this world until they receive the Lord Jesus Christ as personal savior and rest in Him. There are many things I may think I need or want in this world that I do not have but none of them come close to the riches I have in Christ. There is one who can provide real and lasting contentment in our lives today and that one is Jesus.
