May 14th, 2026 by Pastor SolleyPs 84:8-12 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
KJV
I tend to meditate upon the last few verses of this Psalm many, many times throughout the week and even throughout a day as things in this world seldom go the way we plan or want or hope they would, but they always go according to God’s perfect plan and purpose. Even as Satan tries to disrupt and discourage, even as health problems may mount, even as sorrows and tears may come, our God is always able to give grace and glory in every circumstance and it is always better to trust in Him. Before we give in to discouragement, before we give up, before we drown in sorrows we need to remember that it is always our God’s intent to give grace and glory to those that know Him and walk with Him, always to give that which is good to those who walk uprightly.
