2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!
KJV
Those are not questions asked by a complaining people at the end of verse two above, they are accusations. (Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!) But they were a very short sighted people and a forgetful peaole. God had delievered them from Egypt, a place where they were dying and would continue to die. God then promised them deliverance into a land of promise and God never breaks His promises. What they needed to do then is what we need to do today when Satan brings such accusations to our mind, trust and obey. They did not understand the way God was taking them anymore than we may understand today. But if they trusted that God could deliver them from death by blood why not trust God to take them where God wanted them to be? If we have trusted in Christ to delivers us from sin and death by His shed blood, then why not trust in Him to take us where He wants us to be? Great mountains and deep valleys may be in front of many today but our God has not left us to die in the world, or in the wilderness, our God is taking us to where He wants us to be.
