Daily Devotions

Ps 118:24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

This is a verse that most believers, if not committed to memory, are familiar with. With this truth in mind should we not do something for the Lord today considering He made the day possible for us? On the Fourth of July we will remember the freedom we have in this nation, on Memorial Day we will give honor to those who died to provide and protect our freedom, on Christmas Day we will remember the one who came into the world to give us spiritual life and freedom if we receive His free gift of salvation. Should we not then do something for our Lord in the day He has made for us? What can we do for Jesus today? We can pray for those in need, we can praise Him for answered prayer, we can read His Word, we can tell others about Him, we can do many things during this day. And then we can begin anew and afresh tomorrow. “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” But we can also be doing something for our Lord today.
