Ps 121:4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
KJV
Late with the devotional this morning because I did what my God never does, slept in. It is not something I like to do or plan to do and it is not good to stay in the bed so long but there are times when it is needed and when one does it is so reassuring that our God is preserving and protecting us. Many are the times when sleep seems to be far away and even then our God is still watching over us, keeping us in the shade and making even the darkest of nights light about us. Why then not praise and thank Him when He does give His beloved sleep and rest? (Ps 127:2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.)
