KJV
After these things point to a time when Abraham went out to save his nephew Lot and God reminded Abraham that he would always have a shield of protection and a reward for trusting his God. The child of God today will experience many “after these things” times in his or her life. Times of heartache and disappointment, times when sickness strikes, times when trials seem to be multiplied, times when we are separated from loved ones, times that we never wanted to see in our lives. But when we are in the midst of trials today we need to stop and remember the very first time those words, after these things, are recorded in the Bible and the promise of our God, that He is a shield and there is a reward waiting for those who place full faith and trust in Him. The last time we find that phrase, after these things, in the Bible points to that great reward that awaits those abiding under the shield of faith and trust. (Rev 19:1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:)
