Ps 116:12-15 What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?
13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
KJV
Verse fifteen is one I ponder over as I wonder how something that brings so much pain in this world could be so precious to the Lord. The answer is found when we look at death through spiritual eyes and not fleshly eyes. Why did it please the Father to bruise the Son on the cross? (Isa 53:10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.) Why did Jesus see the cross with all the pain and suffering He went through, the sin of the world He carried, the blood He shed, as joy? (Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.) Because it was the only way one could be set free from sin and become a child of God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone. Every individual will die, it is appointed, but the death of all people is not precious in the sight of the Lord, only those who are saved by the blood of Jesus.
(Ps 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.) This I pray, that those going through the pain of separation from loved ones today will remember, if they were born again it is a precious event to the Lord and to them as well when they meet face to face the one that saved them.
