Ps 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
John 10:27-28 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
KJV
I was thinking of a few more times the word never is used in the Bible and settled on three for our devotional this morning.
First, in Psalm 55:22 we find that the Lord will never suffer the righteous to be moved. Moved from what? Moved from a walk close to Him, moved from His presence, moved from His grace, moved from the joy of the Lord. If any of those things seem to be lacking in your life right now and you know Jesus as your personal savior, He is not trying to move you away from Him, He has not cast you away, He stands at this moment drawing you back. It is never the will of God that the righteous be moved away from him.
Second, in John 10:28 we find the sheep of His fold, those who have entered into a relationship with the Good Shepherd, will never perish or be plucked out of His hand. The shepherds at that time would die before they would allow one of their flock to be taken and our Good Shepherd secured us in His fold when He died for us. (John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.) No more secure place can be found than in the flock of the Good Shepherd.
Third, in John 11:26 we find that whosoever believes in Jesus Christ for eternal life, who repents and asks Jesus and Jesus alone to forgive their sin and save them will never die.
Those are some blessed nevers.
