2 Kings 25:30 And his allowance was a continual allowance given him of the king, a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life.
KJV
An allowance is something given, not necessarily earned or perhaps even deserved. As a teen I was not given an allowance by my father. That is not to say I had no money in my pocket that came from him as there were certain things that I was to do around the house and yard that I would be compensated for. There was no set rate of pay for those things because they would change and were to be taken care of regardless. However I do have a Father, a heavenly Father who grants me an allowance each day. That allowance is not earned, it is given because I am His. It also meets my daily needs as they change each day and I never find my self wanting. The allowance from my heavenly Father is not a set rate, it is new each morning. (Lam 3:22-23 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.) And praise my Heavenly Father as well that He is faithful in providing said allowance.
