Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
KJV
An individual is often known by the company they keep, not by who they know, but by those with whom they are the closest and spend the most time with. Peter and John were known because they kept company with Jesus and that closeness changed them. But earlier when Peter sat down with unbelievers, was warming himself by that worldly fire, he stood with them and not with Jesus. That is something we will always know of Peter, bad company took him away from his Lord. But when Peter stood close to Jesus, stood close to John and others who were standing close to Jesus he was known and changed by the company he was keeping. What of the company we will keep today, what does it tell others about us, how will it change us? Is this true of us today? (Prov 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.) Are your friends bringing you closer to the Lord, are you bringing them closer to the Lord? What of this? (1 Cor 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.) Are those you keep company with corrupting your closeness with the Lord? We are not to isolate from those who do not know Jesus or have that close walk with Him because they do need to hear about our Savior and some need encouraged to walk closer to Him. But our fellowships, our close company, those we spend the most time with need to be those that help us get closer to the Lord Jesus Christ.
