Ps 91:1-3 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
KJV
Christian, do you know there will be a snare set for you today? Do you know some noise sent by Satan will try and drive you toward that snare. (Verse three) But there is one who can and will protect and deliver us if we but take refuge in Him. God delivers His people from the snare of the fowler in two senses, from and out of. First, He delivers them from the snare, does not let them enter it; and secondly, if they should be caught in the snare He delivers them out of it. The first promise is the most precious to some; the second is the best to others. Precious to some because they seem to be able by the grace, mercy and power of God to avoid most of the snares of the devil. Blest because when we do happen to be caught in a snare we did not see God will set us free. But that deliverance comes only when we make Him our refuge and fortress, when we trust our God will deliver us from the attacks of Satan. If you have ever watched a bird or animal caught in a snare you know that the more they struggle to get free on their own the tighter the snare becomes. The same thing holds true when we try and get free from the traps and snares of the devil on our own, but if we trust in our Lord and Savior, if we look to Him, He will set us free. There are many snare set for the child of God today, snares of fear and doubt, snares of worries over the future, over health, over family and so on and so forth. Who can set us free? Only Jesus when we trust He will protect and deliver.
