Ps 86:1-4 Bow down thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy.
2 Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.
3 Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.
4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
KJV
Where will you turn to find some rejoicing in this day? It is -3 degrees F in my corner of the world this morning. There are many dealing with sickness and some in hospitals far away that are a part of our church family and we all care about deeply. Others are going through testing and are waiting results. Some are dealing with complications from surgeries. Where might one turn to find some rejoicing? David knew the answer and prayed it in Psalm 86, one needs turn to the only true source of rejoicing, the Lord Jesus Christ. There is one ready to hear my prayers, that brings rejoicing. (Verse 1) There is one that keeps me, preservers me, that brings rejoicing. (Verse 2) There is one I can trust completely, that brings rejoicing. (Verse 2) There is one who grants mercy every time I cry out to Him, that brings rejoicing. (Verse 3) There is one who lifts me up when I lift up my soul to Him, that brings rejoicing. (Verse 4) Where will you turn to find some rejoicing this day? There is one who can bring that rejoicing we all need to us everyday and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. Do you know Him today, can you rejoice in Him today?
