Ex 12:1-2 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
KJV
Israel was about to have a new beginning as the Passover night was about to take place and the nation would be delivered from bondage in Egypt. We now stand at the beginning of a New Year and many look at January 1st as a day that offers a new beginning. What will my New Year resolution be, what will begin today? How about something we can keep that will do us some good? Read and study my Bible more would be a good one. (2 Tim 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.) Pray more, that would be a good one. (Luke 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;) Be thankful for the will of God in my life, that would be a good one. (1 Thess 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.) Be content, that would be a good one. (Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.) Why not make this a new beginning that will do us some good?
