Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
KJV
The title of Jesus that we did not look at last week is “The Prince of Peace” and that will be our focus leading up to the day the Son of God was given to this world. What peace does Jesus Christ offer? First, peace with God the Father. We were born enemies of God because of our sin nature. (Rom 5:8-10 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. ; Col 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled) But that all changes when one is born again, when one repents of the sin that makes us an enemy and receives by faith Jesus as Lord and Savior, they are at that moment made and child of God and they have peace with God. (Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.) I know The Prince of Peace today and He has given me peace with God. That peace makes it possible to put away all fears and doubts, all worries about tomorrow, and trust Him completely. That peace come only with salvation in Jesus Christ and it is a peace that we find only in Jesus. The current president of America is called by some the “Peace President” but I would rather know The Prince of Peace in a personal way because He grants peace with God. If you do not know in a personal way The Prince of Peace then why not today bow before Him and ask Him to forgive and save you? You will find a peace you never thought you could know in your life.
