John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
KJV
How nice it is to be chosen. I remember pick up baseball games, football games, basketball games of my youth when two people would begin to pick the teams and names would be called out. One always wanted to hear his name early in the process, no one wanted to be chosen last. But in salvation, in a relationship with God the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ, in salvation in Christ all that matters is to be chosen. Whom has Jesus chosen to be saved? All. (2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. ; John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ; Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.) All have been chosen to be saved. One other thing I remember from those games of my youth is that some if they were not chosen early would walk away and refuse to play even though they would be chosen. How sad it is that some refuse the invitation of salvation coming from the one who gave His life for them on the cross, how sad it is that some chose to walk away. All can be saved but how sad it is when one does not want to be.
