Ps 84:5-7 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
7 They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
KJV
How many times do we find ourselves in the valleys of life? The valley of Baca points to a difficult situation and the Bible says that one who finds himself or herself in that valley is blessed. (Verse 7) Why? Because that is when we realize where strength comes from, where comfort comes from, where deliverance comes from. That is when we depend the most upon our God. Two doctor appointments this week to hear the results of recent tests and the recommended course of action. As my wife and I sat together we heard good news from both appointments which was not entirely expected by the doctors. One doctor stated how “lucky” I am and I have to disagree with him there as I am blessed and not lucky. Yes there are valleys in our lives, times of concern and times we wonder what the outcome will be. But praise God strength can be found in those valleys as we call upon our Lord.
