John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
KJV
Labor Day is a day set apart to celebrate and honor the American worker and gives that worker a day set aside to rest. It was started when work was common and people wanted to work. Talking to business owners today it seems they have a very hard time finding people who want to work. It reminds me today as a believer in Christ that we are to be a worker and we are to be working for our Lord and savior for there is coming a day when that work will be over. There is no Labor Day set aside for us in this world but there will be a time when the worker for Christ will be celebrated and rewarded in heaven, there will be a time when we also can rest from our labors.
(Rev 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.) I hope all have a happy Labor Day today but we also need to continue working for our wonderful Lord when it is still day for there is coming a time when that work in this world will be over.
